A Book on Charism and Vision Released
Shillong/Mumbai 08 February: A book on Charism and Vision: Foundational Realities and Contemporary Challenges was released on 8th February 2024 by Rev. Father Biju Michael SDB, the Regional Councillor for South Asia at Don Bosco Provincial House Matunga during the SPCSA Assembly in the presence of many other Salesians. The first copy of the book was presented to Rev. Father Paul Olphindro Lyngkot SDB, the provincial of Shillong Province and other provincials.
This book has become a reality today due to the hard work put in by two veteran Salesians namely: Father Joseph Palamthattel SDB and Father Joseph Pulinthanath SDB of Shillong Province. This book brings before its readers a collection of beautiful and thought provoking articles presented at the South Asian Seminar on Evangelising Mission at the Heart of Salesian Charism.
The uniqueness of this book is that it is dedicated to all Salesian Missionaries of yesteryears who toiled hard and proved that mission is everything for them. The foreword written by none other than by a voracious reader and prolific writer Most Rev. Archbishop Emeritus Thomas Menamparampil SDB and the preface by Rev. Father Januarius Sangma SDB, the Provincial of Guwahati Province, makes the book more relevant and unique.
It has twelve well written articles on various topics by various scholars and writers. This book also has two very important messages, at the end of the book, delivered by Cardinal Angel Fernandez Artime SDB, the Rector Major of the Salesian congregation and Father Alfred Maravilla SDB, the General Councillor for Missions which appreciates the editors for their hardwork and dedication in bringing out this book so soon. The colour setting and page layout of the cover page is done by Ashish Datta, Peace Centre, Agartala.
This book is published by Vendrame Institute Publications, Sacred Heart Theological College, Shillong and it is printed at Don Bosco IGACT, Kochi. The cost of this book is Rs. 300/- and it is available in all the book centres.
