SALESIAN EDUCATORS GATHER IN BANGALORE FOR COLLABORATIVE MEETING
Bangalore, October 23, 2024: A three-day meeting of Province School Coordinators and Education and Culture Commission Heads from South Asia took place at Christ University’s Kengri Campus, hosted by the Salesians Province of Bangalore. The event, held from October 21-23, aimed to foster collaboration and innovation among Salesian educators.
The gathering commenced with a warm welcome from Rev. Fr. P. D. Johny, followed by a prayer service and a choral performance by Don Bosco College students. Rev. Fr. Jose Koyickal, local Provincial, set the tone with an introductory address, while recorded messages from Rev. Fr. Miguel Angel Garcia and Rev. Fr. Biju Michael highlighted the need for educators to be present for youth.
Each participating province presented its educational initiatives, showcasing various strategies and success stories. Notable presentations included a focus on child-centered education from Bangalore, urban-rural collaboration from Kolkata, and support for tribal communities from New Delhi. Rev. Fr. Thaddeus Singarayan introduced EDUSTAR, a new assessment tool aimed at enhancing educational quality.
In addition, discussions on new technologies in education featured insights from six leading companies, while Dr. Vinay from Christ University led a hands-on session on social media’s educational role.
The meeting concluded with resolutions to strengthen the Salesian educational mission, reinforcing a commitment to excellence in education and the importance of collaboration among educators dedicated to serving youth across the region.Mumbai Province: Rev.
