Shillong/Rome 18th July: On 17th July 2024, the Rector Major Card. Angel Fernandez Artime met with the two new Provincials, Fr. John Zosiama, INS Provincial and Fr. Sebastian Kuricheal, ING Provincial, in Sacro Cuore, Rome together with Fr. Sunil Barla, the new Rector of Sacred Heart Theological College, Shillong. Fr. Ivo Coelho, General Councillor for Formation and Fr. Biju Michael, Regional Councillor for South Asia were also present. The Rector Major discussed with them some of the concerns of the theological formation of future Salesian priests such as the spiritual accompaniment of each candidate, Salesian formation in the theologate, the need for a systematic preparation of good formators and professors, and other important issues for the governance and animation of the provinces. The two Provincials Fr. John Zosiama and Fr. Sebastian Kuricheal also met with all the General Councillors and in-charge of different sectors of the Congregation in the Generalate. It was an opportunity for them in a special way to meet the Rector Major, to congratulate and thank him on behalf of their confreres before he lays down his office on 16th August. Thanks to Fr.
