Administrators and Lay Accountants Meet


Shillong 11th March: The Annual Administrators and Lay Accountants Meet of the Province of St. John Paul II – Shillong was held on the 10th and 11th March 2022. The meeting commenced with the simple but meaningful inauguration that was led by Mr Royaldeen and Father James Thyrniang the Provincial economer. Before his speech, the Provincial Father Paul O Lyngkot launched the Province website that was revamped and redesigned by Father Michael Makri and the team from the Don Bosco Media Network. ‘The fruits of the meeting should be seen in the sincerity and the completion of the audit in the time given” stressed the Provincial basing his exhortation to the participants from the Constitution and Regulations of the congregation.
    ‘The Meeting was an insightful one since I came for the first time’ said Father Ritonbor Kharkongor – the administrator from St. Anthony’s College as he learned the various processes of accounting that was shared by various resource persons. Fr Hampyrwa Tyngkan of Sacred Heart Higher Secondary School requested the organisers to make the meeting simple so that it will be beneficial for newbies like himself. Father Glorious Syiemlih of Divine Saviour Parish Nongthymmai on the other hand suggested that more than sessions and theories it should be practical and hands-on on how to write project, write report of various meetings, and annual financial reports.

    The Meeting concluded with the way forward, in which Father James Thyrniang proposed five important goals to be achieved by next year. The vote of thanks was then proposed by Father Thiewbor Kharsyntiew to the organisers and the resource persons.
