EMPOWERING RURAL COMMUNITIES THROUGH TRAINING AND SUPPORT
July 2nd 2024, Shillong: Bosco Integrated Development Society, in collaboration with the Veterinary Department and NRLM Mawlai Block, recently organized a 2-day convergence training on piggery and poultry at Nongkohlew and Umphrew Village. The event aimed to empower rural communities through skill development and financial inclusion.
The training sessions saw enthusiastic participation from the villagers, who learned valuable skills on piggery and poultry management. Additionally, a Credit Camp was organized, where loan applications were submitted and sanctioned on the spot. The achievements were impressive, with 5 loan applications submitted, 4 sanctioned, and 15 Savings Bank accounts opened. Moreover, 26 individuals enrolled in PMJJBY (Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana) and 19 in PMSBY (Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana).
