RILANG ORGANISES FREE HEALTH CAMP
Shillong 22 July: Rilang Children’s Home in collaboration with NEIAH organised a free health camp under the theme “Health and Wellness” for all the students to spread awareness about health check-ups and maintaining a healthy life. The programme started at 10:00 a.m. with a word of welcome given by Cl. Ricky Kmenlang Mawlong SDB and an introductory words from Dr. Monica Gupta head of the doctor’s team. Dr. Gupta exhorts and advice the children to keep oneself and the surrounding clean and to practice hygiene. By 10:39 a.m., all were asked to make a line and get the height and weight checked to calculate BMI (body mass index), which explains whether the person is unhealthy or not. By 12:30 pm, every student with staff had themselves checked for BMI, and other health conditions, if any. All were happy to know about so many things that we could learn from doctors. The programme ended with an overall report by the doctors about the health of children. Thanks all the doctors and nurses for their time and consideration for our institution.
