DON BOSCO COLLEGE BYNDIHATI STUDENT SHINES AT STATE-LEVEL YOUTH PARLIAMENT, EARNS SPOT IN NATIONAL COMPETITION

Shillong, Meghalaya – March 27, 2025: Ms. Kalung Angel, a bright student from Don Bosco College Byndihati, has brought immense pride to her institution and the state after securing the 2nd Prize at the State Level Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament 2025. The competition, held on March 27th at the Lariti International Centre for Performing Arts and Culture in Mawkasiang, saw enthusiastic participation from young leaders across Meghalaya. The State Round of the Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament, organized by the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly in collaboration with the Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS) and the National Service Scheme (NSS), provided a platform for youth aged 18-25 to engage in crucial discussions on national issues. The event, which commenced at 10:00 am, focused on the pertinent topics: “75 Years of the Indian Constitution: A Journey of Rights, Duties, and Progress” and “The 11 Sankalp of Samvidhan Divas: A Pledge to Strengthen India’s Constitutional Values.” Ms. Kalung Angel’s exceptional performance and insightful contributions during the deliberations earned her the coveted second position. This achievement also secures her a place among the top three participants selected to represent Meghalaya at the National Level competition. The Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament is a significant initiative by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, aligning with the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision for a Viksit Bharat@2047. The program aims to foster youth participation in policymaking, governance, and national discourse, echoing the Prime Minister’s call to engage one lakh young individuals in the political sphere. The National Level competition will see the top three selected participants from each state converging to further discuss on the topic: “One Nation, One Election: Simplifying Democracy, Amplifying Progress, Ensuring Stability.” This provides a valuable opportunity for young voices from across the country to contribute to important national conversations and shape future policies.
