Shillong 15 July: The second retreat of the Salesian province of Shillong was held at Pastoral Centre Shillong from July 9 to July 15, 2023. The retreat began with an introductory talk by the preacher (Fr. Regi Kizhakkethalackal, MSFS). There were 38 confreres who attended the retreat, consisting of 18 Priests, 15 clerics, and 5 Salesian brothers. The theme for the retreat was "Growth in Spiritual Life." During the retreat, Fr. Regi guided all the Fathers and brothers on how to grow in their spiritual journey. The talks were twice a day and were based mainly on the Holy Scriptures, the lives of the saints, and the Mystics of the Church. There was Adoration, the Holy Eucharist, Rosaries, and the Divine Mercy Chaplet every day, and the Adoration was animated by the Preacher. The goodnight talks were given by Fr. Sunny, Fr. George, Fr. K.K. Joseph, Fr. Carmel, and Fr. Sebastian. They shared about their region where they are working, in particular about their own centres growth and difficulties. Fr. Regi conducted inner healing and a prayer of deliverance during the Adoration service. There were also short programmes conducted by Fr. Stephen to thank and facilitate Fr. Regi, the preacher for the retreat. During the programme, Br. Colombi sang a beautiful Italian song and cracked a few jokes. The retreat went on successfully, and it was concluded with the Holy Mass on the 15th morning, celebrated by Fr. Provincial.
