92nd Annual Sports of St. Anthony’s Hr Sec School – Shillong


Shillong 5th April: St. Anthony’s higher secondary school celebrated its 92nd annual sports meet in Don Bosco mini stadium Laitumkhrah with the theme “grow through what you go through” inaugurated by Shri. Ronnie V. Lyngdoh, MLA Mylliem Constituency who was also one of the chief guests for the inaugural function. Present in the occasion were Smti. Isawanda Laloo, IAS Director of Sports and Youth Affairs Govt. of Meghalaya as the Chief Guest for the concluding ceremony and Shri. Ollan Sing Suin, MLA Mawsynram Constituency Dy. Chairman, Planning Board (Govt. of Meghalaya), as the Guest of Honour, Father Anthony Kharkongnor Principal, Father Jeevan Lakra the Rector, Lurshai A wahlang vice principal, teachers and students from different schools, parents and other spectators. Addressing the gathering, Shri Ronnie V Lyngdoh congratulated all the participants and wished for their victory and fair play and urged the students both boys and girls to show case their talents in fields like this since it is going to be counted in their career merits. He praised the organizers and teachers who had made the sports meet a success. He finally urged the students to train themselves to become all rounders. Concluding the sports meet, Chief guest Isawanda Laloo told the students that sports contains 5 important words starting with S which means stamina, speed, strength, skills and spirit and she emphasized that the most important of them is the kind spirit of an athlete. She urged the students to work hard and strive for what they desire in their life and school time is the best time to polish oneself and display their talents along with hard work both mind and body. concluding her speech, praised the organizers, teachers and students who had participated with full joy and wished the students a good life ahead of them also wishing the best for the teachers and organizers to be able to organize more such platforms for students.
