The Province of Shillong was represented by 11 youth from various parishes and institutions, accompanied by Fr. Ritonbor Kharkongor, Youth Ministry Delegate of the province. In total, there were 74 participants from the three provinces, along with their Youth Ministry Delegates and Social Experience Coordinators.
The program commenced on the evening of 5th September with a brief introduction of participants, followed by a lively family gathering after supper.
The following day began with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist presided over by Fr. Pampackal Joseph, Provincial of Dimapur. In his homily, Fr. Joseph encouraged the youth to be “the salt of the earth to preserve values, the light of the world to guide others out of darkness, and a city set on a hilltop to inspire everyone.”
This was followed by the inaugural function and a series of interactive sessions covering topics such as:
The sessions were facilitated by the Youth Ministry Delegates, Social Experience Coordinators, and DBYES staff.
The program also included family gatherings, group activities, and ample opportunities for the participants to express themselves. The youth expressed their appreciation for the energy and dynamism of the organizers and the chance to collaborate with the youth from other provinces. Many voiced their commitment to work together in carrying forward the mission of Don Bosco through SYM initiatives in their respective contexts.
The program concluded on the morning of 8th September with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, bringing to a close three days of formation, fellowship, and renewed commitment to youth ministry.
