Umden, 13th September 2026: The Seng Longkmie of Lum Sinai Parish, Umden, organised a two-day seminar on 12th and 13th September 2026 on the theme, “And let us not grow weary in well-doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we do not lose heart” (Galatians 6:9).
On the first day, the session was animated by Sister Tngenlang Teresa Sten, MSMHC. During her session, she spoke about the importance of the relationship between husband and wife and how to rebuild a good relationship after misunderstandings within the family. She also highlighted the importance of a prayerful family, referring to the Scripture: “But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15). At the end of the session, she conducted a small activity for the women, or Longkmie. The day concluded with a meaningful and fruitful Adoration service led by Father M.C. Thomas at 4:30 p.m.
The second day of the seminar, held on 13 September, began at 8:30 a.m. in the parish hall. The session was conducted by Father Michael Khongngain, the parish priest, who spoke about how to live a life of prayer and how to do good towards their husbands and family. He also spoke about how to take care of our relationships, minds, and bodies. During his session, he emphasised the importance of relationships within the family, particularly between parents and children, as well as with our neighbours.
The seminar concluded with the celebration of the Holy Eucharist, presided over by the parish priest himself. In his homily, he emphasised the importance of forgiveness, which was the main theme of his reflection. He spoke about the effects of unforgiveness, comparing it to cancer that gradually destroys us. He explained that forgiveness is like an injection that immediately begins to heal our brokenness. At the end of his homily, he strongly exhorted all of us to forgive others and to seek forgiveness from those whom we may have hurt. Following the Mass, the participants shared a sumptuous lunch. The seminar concluded successfully at around 2:45 p.m.
The seminar was a great success, as many of the participating women, or Longkmie, benefited greatly from the insightful sessions conducted by Sister Tngenlang Teresa Sten and Father Michael Khongngain. The programme provided them with valuable guidance and encouragement to strengthen their families, deepen their faith, and fulfil their roles in the Church and society.
