DBTS PAST PUPILS’ DAY 2026 & 2ND QUADRENNIAL PROVINCIAL CONVENTION 2026

 

Shillong, 12 September 2026: Don Bosco Technical School, Shillong, hosted Past Pupils’ Day 2026 along with the 2nd Quadrennial Convention of the Provincial Federation of Past Pupils of Don Bosco, Shillong Province, on 12 September 2026. The gathering brought together past pupils from different units, Salesians, staff and members of the Don Bosco family for a day of reunion, fellowship and reflection on their continued commitment to the Don Bosco mission.

The programme began at 12:00 noon with registration, followed by prayer and the promises of the Past Pupils of Don Bosco and the lighting of the lamp. An Inter-Unit Basketball Match, organised by DBTS Shillong, was held at 12:30 PM, fostering friendship, teamwork and healthy competition among the participating units.

The second session commenced at 3:00 PM with Holy Mass, celebrated by Fr. John Zosiama, Provincial, as the Main Celebrant. The liturgy was organised by the DBTS Unit. The Eucharistic celebration provided an opportunity for the Past Pupils and the Don Bosco family to give thanks to God and pray for the continued growth and service of the association. The Mass was followed by tea refreshments.

The main convention session began at 4:00 PM, chaired by the President of the DBTS Unit. It included the Prayer and Promise of the Past Pupils, a welcome song by the House/Hostellers, and a welcome address by the President of DBTS. The DBTS staff also presented a special song. The General Secretary of the DBTS Shillong Unit presented the General Report, followed by the Financial Report by the Treasurer, Bah Ritbok Shadap. Members then participated in a discussion and offered suggestions regarding the reports and future activities of the association. This was followed by musical entertainment, a speech by the Unit Delegate of DBTS and the distribution of prizes to the winners of the Basketball Tournament 2026.

At 4:45 PM, the Provincial Federation session commenced under the chairmanship of the President of the Provincial Federation. The session included animation by the Provincial Delegate, presentation of Unit Reports, entertainment by the SJPPA Unit, a felicitation speech by the Provincial Federation President, open discussion and the Vote of Thanks by the Secretary of the Provincial Federation.

The formal programme concluded with a JAM Session and Meal at 6:30 PM, providing an informal opportunity for the past pupils and members of the Don Bosco family to interact, share memories and strengthen their bonds of friendship.

The celebration was a meaningful homecoming to the alma mater, reaffirming the enduring bond between DBTS and its past pupils. It highlighted the importance of unity, fellowship and continued collaboration in carrying forward the values and mission of Don Bosco. The successful celebration concluded with gratitude to God and appreciation to all who contributed to making Past Pupils’ Day 2026 and the 2nd Quadrennial Convention a memorable and enriching occasion.
