Shillong, 18th September 2026: The Annual Junior priests meet of the Salesian Province of Shillong (INS – Quinquennium) was held at Pastoral Centre, Shillong from 15th – 18th September, 2026. The programme began with the short introduction and words of welcome by Fr. Vice Provincial followed by an animation on Inner Spirituality by Fr.V.T Jose. The second day began with the morning prayer and meditation followed by the Holy Mass celebrated by the final batch of the quinquennium. The first session of the day animated by Fr. Economer on Financial Administration, in which he stressed mainly on proper accounting and proper documentation of the house. The second session animated by Fr. Provincial on Consecrated life – challenges and opportunities. In the afternoon there was a sharing of the priestly ministry by all the participants followed by tea and bath. Fr. George Shining Lyngkhoi, the secretary of Fr. Provincial animated the evening session on the topic Mental Health/wellbeing. The first day was concluded by the evening prayer, Rosary and good night talk by Fr. Vice Provincial followed by a friendly Futsal match at St.Anthony’s Hr. Sec. School, Laitumkhrah. The second day began with morning prayer and meditation followed by the Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Provincial. Fr. Arul Kumar Sebastain animated the morning two sessions on Ratio Dissemination and Fr. James Thyrniang and his staff on Mission Poverty Eradication. In the afternoon the sharing of priestly ministry continued by the remaining participants of the previous day. The Final session of the quinquennium was held at Don Bosco Youth Centre, Laitumkhrah by Fr. Michael Makri on AI and Digital Technology in which he mainly based on the encyclical letter by Pope Leo XIV the ‘Magnifica Humanitas’. The day was concluded by the evening prayer and supper in the same venue. The quinquennium was concluded on the fourth day by the Holy Mass celebrated by Fr. Vice Provincial.
