Shillong, 23rd April 2026: St. Joseph’s Tournament 2026 was inaugurated on 23rd April 2026 at 3:15 PM with a meaningful and well-organized function. Reflecting the theme “One Spirit, One Goal, One Glory,” the event brought together all departments in a shared vision of unity, teamwork, and excellence.
The program began with an opening prayer led by the Principal, followed by a Bible reading by Rijied D. Khyriem. A symbolic lighting of the torch by captains of each department marked the spirit of sportsmanship and unity. The Director then delivered an inspiring message and officially declared the tournament open. The athletes’ pledge was led by Keith Paul, emphasizing fair play and discipline, followed by general instructions from the Vice Principal. The inauguration concluded with the school anthem.
Following the inauguration, a wide range of outdoor games, indoor games, and competitions were conducted successfully:
- Outdoor Games: Football, Basketball
- Indoor Games: Chess, Carrom Board, Table Tennis, Draught, Footballino
- Competitions: Debate, Essay Writing, Drawing, Singing, Dancing, Fancy Dress (Out of Waste), Push-ups, Arm Wrestling
The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from all departments, truly living out the theme through unity in spirit, determination in goals, and excellence in performance.
After several days of exciting events, the tournament concluded on 30th April 2026. The MMV Department emerged as the Champion Team of the year, demonstrating outstanding consistency and teamwork.
The celebrations culminated with the Feast of St. Joseph the Worker on 1st May 2026, bringing together students, staff, and workers in a spirit of gratitude and joy.
Overall, St. Joseph’s Tournament 2026 was a grand success, fostering sportsmanship, discipline, and a strong sense of community among all participants.
