Shillong, 23rd February 2026: The inauguration of the new scholastic year at Savio Juniorate was held with great enthusiasm and solemnity on 23rd February 2026 at the Ravalico Auditorium Hall. The programme began at 10:00 a.m. in the presence of the Fr. Rector, Fathers, Brothers, Teacher, staff, students, and invited guests.
The celebration commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, symbolizing the beginning of a new academic journey filled with knowledge, hope, and success. The moment created a prayerful and inspiring atmosphere, reminding everyone of the importance of wisdom and enlightenment.
The event was made lively and colourful with various cultural items presented by different classes. The students showcased their talents through melodious songs, graceful dances, and a meaningful short play. These performances reflected unity, creativity, and the spirit of teamwork among the boys.
The Chief Guest for the occasion was Rev. Fr. Anthony Kharkongor. In his inspiring address, he encouraged the students to aim high in their studies and in life. He reminded them to consider themselves lucky for having the opportunity to learn and grow in such a nurturing environment. He urged the boys to work hard, remain disciplined, and make the best use of their time.
The theme for the academic year 2026, “Learn Today, Lead Tomorrow,” was also highlighted during the programme. The message of the theme motivated the students to focus on learning with dedication so that they may become responsible and capable leaders in the future.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the Chief Guest, organizers, teachers, and students for their efforts in making the event a grand success. The inauguration marked a joyful and meaningful beginning of the new scholastic year at Savio Juniorate.
