Shillong, 30 May 2026 – The hostel community of Don Bosco Technical School (DBTS), Shillong, celebrated Marian Nite 2026 with great devotion, enthusiasm, and creativity as a tribute to our Blessed Mother Mary. The event marked the grand culmination of the month of May, traditionally dedicated to honouring Mother Mary in the Catholic Church.
Throughout the month, various spiritual and cultural activities were organized to deepen the students’ love and devotion towards Mother Mary. Every Saturday, the hostel community gathered for a special Rosary Service, praying together and reflecting on the virtues of Mary. In addition, several competitions were conducted, including Marian Drawing, Marian Singing, and Marian Quiz, encouraging students to express their faith through their talents and creativity.
The culmination of these celebrations took place on 30th May 2026 with the much-awaited Marian Nite. The evening began at 6:30 PM with a solemn Marian Procession, during which students, staff, and hostel residents walked prayerfully in honour of Mother Mary. Following the procession, a meaningful ceremony was held where participants burned letters containing their personal prayers, reflections, and intentions. This symbolic act represented faith, tradition, surrender to God, and spiritual renewal.
The Marian Nite programme featured a variety of exciting and faith-filled activities, including Marian Slogans, Marian Singing, Marian Drawing, Marian Chess, Marian Crosswords, Marian Invocations, and several other competitions. These activities not only entertained the participants but also helped them learn more about the life, virtues, and role of Mother Mary in the Church.
The event witnessed active participation from the hostel students, creating an atmosphere of joy, devotion, and fraternity. The winners of the various competitions conducted throughout the month were recognized and appreciated for their efforts and talents.
Marian Nite 2026 concluded on a note of gratitude and inspiration, reminding everyone of the importance of following the example of Mother Mary in faith, humility, obedience, and service. The celebration strengthened the spiritual life of the hostel community and made the Month of Mary a truly memorable experience for all.
