RRTC, Umran, 7th April 2026: The inauguration of the two-month Pre-Novitiate Orientation Course was held on 7th April 2026 at 6:30 pm in the main hall of RRTC, Umran. The course was organized by the Shillong Province to prepare the 31 pre-novices for the next stage of formation.
Rev. Fr. Jeevan Kishore Lakra, SDB, Vice Provincial of Shillong Province, was the Chief Guest for the occasion. Also, present were Fr. Kenny Pakma, SDB, Director of RRTC; Fr. Anugrah Kerketta, SDB, Deputy Director; Fr. George Shining Lyngkhoi, SDB, Animator and Province Secretary; Fr. Bernard Pala, SDB, Rector of Don Bosco Aspirantate, Nonglakhiat; Br. Octopaul and Br. Ricky; and the 31 pre-novices.
The programme began with a hymn to the Holy Spirit and the lighting of the lamp, followed by a welcome song and cultural items presented by the pre-novices. In his speech on the theme “Becoming a Gift for Others”, Fr. Jeevan encouraged the pre-novices to learn and enhance their skills and to remain faithful to their vocation. Fr. George then gave instructions for the course.
The programme concluded around 7:30 pm with a hymn to Don Bosco, followed by the rosary and supper. The pre-novices were full of enthusiasm and gratitude for their vocation.
