INAUGURATION OF THE NEW SCHOLASTIC YEAR 2026–2027

Bosco Home Herma, 8th June 2026: The community of Bosco Home Herma solemnly inaugurated the new scholastic year 2026–2027 on 8th June 2026 at 9:00 a.m. in the Community Hall. The programme marked the beginning of a new academic journey for the Pre-Novices and the community.

The gathering commenced with a warm welcome by Fr. Santreki Muliar, the Councillor and Administrator of the community. In his address, he graciously welcomed Fr. Glorios Syiemlieh, the Rector, Fr. Suman Kumar Kiro, the Vice Rector, Bro. Mark Shanbor Thyrniang, the Assistant, and all the newly admitted Pre-Novices. The inauguration ceremony began with the traditional lighting of the lamps. This was followed by a reading from the Sacred Scripture led by Pre-Novice Martin Pohlong and a meaningful opening prayer conducted by Pre-Novice Christbert Lating. Following the prayer service, Fr. Glorios Syiemlieh, the Rector, delivered an inspiring inaugural address. He highlighted two important focal points for the new scholastic year: “Be open to new learning” and “Strive for perfection.” His motivating words encouraged the Pre-Novices to embrace every opportunity for growth and formation with dedication and enthusiasm. The programme continued with a melodious choir presentation entitled “The Witness” performed by the Pre-Novices. Their uplifting rendition added a joyful and reflective atmosphere to the occasion. Thereafter, Fr. Santreki Muliar read out the rules and regulations of the house, reminding everyone of the values of discipline, responsibility, and community living. This was followed by an address from Fr. Suman Kumar Kiro, the Vice Rector, who shared a meaningful message on the importance of commitment and perseverance in the formation process. He then officially declared the scholastic year 2026–2027 open.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Pre-Novice Romi Marbaniang, who expressed gratitude to all those who contributed to the successful organization of the event. The gathering then joined in singing the Hymn to Don Bosco, bringing the inauguration ceremony to a fitting conclusion. At the end of the programme, the community members and the Pre-Novices congratulated Fr. Santreki Muliar, the Chairman of the gathering, for the successful conduct of the event. The inauguration marked a meaningful beginning to the new academic year, fostering a spirit of learning, growth, and commitment among all present.
