​Class 9 Boys of Savio Juniorate Stage Inspiring Play General Mickey in Honour of St. John Bosco

Shillong, 15th August 2026: On August 16, at 5:00 PM, the Class 9 boys of Savio Juniorate presented a captivating theatrical performance titled General Mickey in honor of the birthday of St. John Bosco. Directed by Cl. Silbanus Salahe, the production brought the hall to full capacity with an enthusiastic audience comprising the convent girls from Sacred Heart, Savio Juniorate boys from Class 8 and10, parents of the Class 9 performers, as well as Fathers, Brothers, and Sisters. The evening commenced with a warm welcome address delivered by Fr. Gomes, setting an inspiring tone for the celebration.

​The play revolved around the profound central theme, “Every saint has a past, and every sinner has a future,” portraying the dramatic transformation of General Mickey. Under Cl. Silbanus’s guidance, the young performers effectively conveyed how personal redemption, self-discipline, and faith can lead to meaningful change. The audience was deeply moved by the compelling storytelling and impressive acting, which brought St. Don Bosco’s values to life on stage.

​The event was further enriched by the insightful addresses of the distinguished dignitaries. The Chief Guest, Mrs. Bashida Massar, urged the students to learn as much as possible during their time at the institution and reminded them that nothing is impossible when we give our best effort. Similarly, the Guest of Honour, Fr. George Shining Lyngkhoi, highlighted how Mickey first transformed himself before guiding his companions from bad to good, encouraging everyone to make a positive impact wherever they are. The memorable evening concluded with heartfelt appreciation for the talented Class 9 and all who made the show a success.
