St. Joseph Higher Secondary School, Umden, Bids Farewell to Classes X and XII with a Message of Humility, Hard Work and Kindness

Umden,30 October 2026: St. Joseph Higher Secondary School, Umden, organised a farewell programme in honour of the outgoing students of Classes X and XII, in recognition of their dedication and hard work during their time at the school. The celebration was a great success and was attended by Father Michael Khongngaiñ, the Parish Priest; Father Hampyrwa Tyngkan, the Principal; Father Thomas Marak, the Vice-Principal; Father M. C. Thomas; all the teachers; and students from Classes VI to X.

The programme began with the lighting of the lamp, symbolising the Light of Christ and the hope of a bright future. This was followed by a prayer song presented by the Don Bosco Hostel Boys, Umden, and then by a variety of activities.

On behalf of all the teachers, Sister Diana Maliakkal, S.D., the Class Teacher of Class IX-B, expressed gratitude and appreciation to the outgoing students. In her address, she shared a thoughtful message not only for the outgoing students but also for everyone present. She emphasised three important values: being humble, working hard, and always being kind, even in the smallest things.

During the farewell message, Father Michael Khongngaiñ reflected on the theme of the celebration and encouraged the outgoing students to shine in the future as responsible and good students. He urged them to carry with them the spirit of humility and kindness, to remain dedicated to their studies, and to make their families proud through their hard work and commitment.

The programme concluded with a blessing and left everyone with lasting memories. A special lunch was served to all the teachers and, especially, to the outgoing students. May this celebration inspire hope, joy, and love among the students and throughout the school community.
