Herma, 27 July 2026: A week-long Spiritual Retreat for the Pre-Novices of Bosco Home, Herma was held from 20th to 27th July 2026, offering the participants a grace-filled opportunity to deepen their relationship with God and renew their commitment to their Salesian vocation.
The retreat was animated by a dedicated team comprising Br. Siby Matthew, Br. Baby Anthony, and Br. Augustine Varghese from Kerala, along with Br. Willibroad Riahtam, a member of Jesus Youth, Shillong, who led the music ministry. Throughout the eight-day retreat, the participants followed a well-planned and spiritually enriching programme. Each day included inspiring preaching sessions, moments of silent personal reflection, charismatic praise and worship, village visits, and various other meaningful spiritual activities.
The retreat sessions were thoughtfully prepared and presented, enabling the pre-novices to encounter Christ in a personal way and deepen their understanding of the Christian faith. They participated wholeheartedly, listening attentively to the talks and prayerfully reflecting on the messages during their personal prayer. The retreat became a privileged time for them to strengthen their faith, deepen their prayer life, and discern more sincerely the vocation to which God has lovingly called them.
The retreat concluded gracefully on the morning of 27th July 2026 with the solemn celebration of the Holy Eucharist, followed by Eucharistic Adoration and a prayer for the anointing of the Holy Spirit. After the liturgical celebrations, the community gathered for a group photograph, followed by a brief felicitation programme to express heartfelt gratitude to the retreat team for their inspiring preaching, generous accompaniment, and dedicated service.
The Spiritual Retreat proved to be a profound and transformative experience for the Pre-Novices. It enriched their spiritual lives, strengthened their faith, renewed their enthusiasm for prayer, and inspired them to respond more generously to God’s call. The Bosco Home, Herma community remains deeply grateful to the retreat team for their invaluable contribution and prays that the fruits of this retreat will continue to bear abundant blessings in the lives of all the participants.
