Pre-Novices Showcase Faith and Creativity in Self-Composed Prayer Singing Competition at Herma

 

Herma 29 August 2026: A Self-Composed Prayer Before and After Meals Singing Competition was organised for the Pre-Novices of Bosco Home Herma on 29 August 2026. The competition was organised as part of the community’s efforts to encourage creativity, prayerfulness, and active participation among the Pre-Novices.

The competition started at 5:30 pm in the community hall, with the presence of Father Rector, Father Counsellor, Father Confessor, Brother Khraw and Brother Assistant. This event provided an opportunity for the participants to express their faith and gratitude to God through music and to creatively compose prayers that could be used before and after meals. It also helped the Pre-Novices appreciate the importance of prayer and thanksgiving in their daily community life. The participants presented their self-composed prayers with a lot of efforts and enthusiasm. The atmosphere was filled with joy and fraternity as the participants encouraged and appreciated one another. After the performances, the results were announced. Pre-Novice Macavius Sohtun secured the 1st position, while Nathaniel Kshiar obtained the 2nd position. The 3rd position was jointly awarded to Cavinson Sangriang and Daiarmiki Biam. The competition was not only a platform to showcase musical talent but also a meaningful experience that reminded everyone of the importance of beginning and ending every meal with gratitude to God. It encouraged the Pre-Novices to bring creativity and prayer into their ordinary daily activities.

The event concluded with words of appreciation and encouragement from Father Rector who congratulated the participants for their performance, their active involvement and sincere efforts. The competition was a memorable and enriching experience for the Pre-Novices, and the programme concluded with a hymn to Don Bosco.
