Shillong, 24th September 2026: Don Bosco Technical School, Shillong, in collaboration with the Don Bosco Job Placement Network, India, organised the Mega Job Fair 2026 on 24 September 2026 at the DBTS campus. The event was organised to provide employment opportunities and facilitate direct interaction between job-seeking candidates and prospective employers and recruiters.
The inauguration of the Mega Job Fair commenced at 10:00 AM with an Opening Prayer led by Br. Sniawshngain Papang, Vice Principal, DBTS, invoking God’s blessings upon the candidates, employers, recruiters, and the entire event.
This was followed by the Introductory Note delivered by Fr. Shiningstar Dkhar, Principal, DBTS, who welcomed the employers, recruiters, candidates, staff, and other participants. He highlighted the importance of providing meaningful employment opportunities to young people and creating a platform where their skills and training could connect with the needs of the industry.
The programme then proceeded with the felicitation of the employers and recruiters, expressing gratitude for their presence and valuable contribution towards supporting the career aspirations of the young candidates.
The Mega Job Fair 2026 was officially declared open by Fr. Saji Stephen SDB, Director and Rector of Don Bosco Technical School, Shillong. His presence and words of encouragement motivated the candidates as they prepared to meet the participating companies and recruiters.
Following the inauguration, the interview and recruitment process began. More than 500 candidates, primarily former trainees and pass-outs of Don Bosco Technical School, participated in the Job Fair. The event provided them with an opportunity to interact directly with recruiters, attend interviews, and explore various employment opportunities.
A total of 18 employers and recruiters were physically present at the venue to conduct interviews and interact with the candidates. In addition, five online recruiters joined the event through Zoom, enabling candidates to participate in virtual interviews and widening the range of employment opportunities available to them.
The Mega Job Fair 2026 thus served as an important platform for connecting skilled and trained youth with potential employers. The active participation of more than 500 candidates, 18 offline employers and recruiters, and five online recruiters demonstrated the growing importance of industry linkages and organised placement initiatives in supporting the employment aspirations of young people.
The event reflected the commitment of Don Bosco Technical School, Shillong, towards empowering young people with skills, employment opportunities, and pathways towards a dignified and sustainable future.
