Sonapahar, 5 September 2026: The NDCYM Annual Youth Sports Meet for Zone IV was held on 5 September at Christ the King Parish, Sonapahar, bringing together enthusiastic young people from five inter-parish communities—Nongjri Parish, Sonapahar Parish, Umdang Parish, Shallang Parish, and Riangdim Parish.
The youth actively participated in various sporting disciplines, including Football, Basketball, and Mawpoint. Through their participation, they demonstrated not only their sporting talents but also teamwork, discipline, determination, and true sportsmanship.
More than just a sporting event, the meet provided a valuable opportunity for young people from different parishes to come together, strengthen friendships, and promote unity, fellowship, and fraternity among the youth of Zone IV.
The day concluded with a prize and certificate distribution ceremony, where the winners of the various competitions were recognised and congratulated for their achievements. The event ended on a joyful and celebratory note, highlighting that the true spirit of the sports meet lay not only in competition and sporting excellence but also in friendship, teamwork, unity, and shared fellowship.
