Wolfgang Parish, Munich, 17th October 2026: The Diaconate Ordination was celebrated on 17th October 2026 at St. Wolfgang Parish, Munich, Germany in a very solemn and prayerful atmosphere. The main celebrant of the Holy Mass was Bishop Stefan Oster Sdb, (Bishop of Passau Diocese) who was accompanied by Fr. Reinhard Gesing Sdb (Provincial of German province) and several priests, confreres and other members of the clergy. The Khasi confreres, sisters of different congregations coming from Shillong living in and around Germany were also taking part which made the occasion livelier. The Aunty and sister of Banraplang were also there coming all the way from Shillong. The celebration was an important and memorable occasion in bringing together clergy, religious, and faithful to witness and participate in this sacred liturgical event.
The Holy Mass was celebrated with great dignity and devotion. The liturgy was very solemn, reflecting the sacredness of the Deacon and its role. The prayers, hymns, readings, and liturgical rites created an atmosphere of prayer and thanksgiving. The active participation of the clergy and the faithful contributed to the beauty of the celebration and highlighted the unity of the Church.
The Diaconate Ordination marked an important step in the spiritual journey of the candidates Dn. Banraplang and three others who were called to serve God and His people in the ordained ministry. Through ordination, deacons received a special responsibility to proclaim the Gospel, assist at the altar, and dedicate themselves to works of charity.
The celebration was not only significant for the candidates but also inspiring for all those who participated. For most of them was for the first time to witness the Deaconate Ordination. It reminded the faithful of their own baptismal calling to serve others, bear witness to Christ, and contribute to the mission of the Church. The occasion encouraged everyone to deepen their faith, strengthen their prayer life, and become more generous in serving others.
The liturgy started at 10:30 am and ended around 12:30pm. After the Liturgy followed by the Photo session and Meal prepared for the occasion. To make the day more special, the Khasi friends (Priests and Religious) of Banraplang showed their talents through their melodious songs which was appreciated by many.
The celebration will remain a memorable spiritual experience and a reminder that every vocation is a gift from God and a call to serve Him and His people with love and faithfulness.
Let’s us continue to accompany Dn. Banraplang Nongrum in our prayers.
