Shillong, 5th September 2026: Don Bosco Technical School, Shillong, celebrated Teachers’ Day 2026 with great joy, gratitude and enthusiasm to honour the dedication and service of its teachers. The celebration brought together the management, teachers, staff and students in a spirit of appreciation and fellowship.
The programme began with a Bible Reading by Sr. Sweety, followed by an Opening Prayer led by Sr. Terimchi, seeking God’s blessings upon the entire DBTS family. Br. Sniawshngain Papang, Vice Principal, then delivered the Welcome Speech and expressed gratitude to the teachers for their commitment to the formation and development of the students.
The celebration featured a variety of songs, dances, traditional performances, skits and other cultural items presented by different departments, including MMV, Advanced DTP & GDA, Electrician, Stenography, Carpentry, Welder, DTP, Beautician, Photography & Videography, DBTech, Sewing Technology, German Language and Electrician LEAP & Solar. The performances created a lively and joyful atmosphere throughout the celebration.
A highlight of the programme was the address by Fr. Shiningstar Dkhar, Principal, who appreciated the teachers for their dedication, patience and contribution to the holistic development of the students. A Token of Love and Gift Distribution was also organised as a gesture of appreciation to the teachers. Special performances by Cynthia and a Ramp Walk by the Sewing Technology Department added further excitement to the celebration.
The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks by Wonderful Nongkhlaw, School Representative, followed by tea, snacks and lunch for the teachers. The celebration ended on a joyful note with a jam session, bringing teachers and students together in a spirit of friendship and togetherness.
The Teachers’ Day Celebration 2026 was a memorable occasion that expressed the school community’s heartfelt gratitude to its teachers, recognising them as guides, mentors and inspirations who continue to shape the lives and future of their students.
