Umden, 3rd September 2026: St. Joseph Higher Secondary School, Umden, celebrated Teachers’ Day on 3rd September 2026, which was organised by the students themselves in honour of all the teachers for their selfless service and dedication. The celebration was held in the Parish Hall under the theme, “Honouring the Hands That Shape Young Minds.” The programme began with a prayer led by the School Captain, followed by a warm welcome extended to the teachers and guests by the students.
The students presented various programmes, including dances, skits, songs, fancy dress, traditional dance and song (Phawar Khasi) and speech, according to their respective classes. The teachers also participated enthusiastically, making the celebration special and creating a joyful, memorable, and friendly atmosphere with the students. During the speech delivered by Fr. Hampyrwa Tyngkan, the Principal, spoke on the theme and reminded the students that teachers should not be honoured only on Teachers’ Day but should be respected and appreciated throughout the year, in his speech he encouraged the students to express their gratitude through their conduct, respect, discipline, and willingness to learn.
The celebration concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the principal, who expressed his sincere gratitude to all the students and teachers for their dedication, participation, guidance, and service for the benefit of the students.
The celebration was a meaningful and memorable occasion that reminded everyone that each person could be both a teacher and a student, as everyone had something to teach and something to learn from others.
