Umden Hostellers Triumph in Friendly Football Match Against Nongpoh, Strengthening Unity and Brotherhood

Umden, 22 August 2026: On 22 August 2026, the hostellers of Umden Parish travelled to Nongpoh for a friendly football match organized by Fr. Johny Eapen, SDB, and Assistant Brother Kennyson. The match was organized to honour and strengthen the unity and brotherly bond between the two parishes.

The football match began at around 10:00 a.m. with a short prayer service led by Fr. Johny Eapen, SDB. He then welcomed the hostellers from both parishes, gave instructions regarding the game, and
introduced the referee. After this, the match began. The match was played peacefully and without any disturbances. At the end of the game, the Umden Hostel team emerged victorious and won the first prize. The prize was presented to them by Fr. M. C. Thomas, SDB.

The match ended successfully and was concluded by Brother Eusebius Nongkhlaw, Assistant of Umden Hostel, who also delivered the vote of thanks. After the match, the Nongpoh community generously provided lunch for everyone. Following the meal, the Umden hostellers departed for home to attend another programme. The purpose of this event was to foster a good relationship among the hostellers of both parishes and to promote peace, love, unity, friendship, and brotherhood among them.
