26 July 2026: The Nongkyndang Subdistrict of Sonapahar Parish organized a special programme dedicated to fathers and mothers, honouring the elders of the community. The celebration began with the Holy Eucharist, presided over by Fr. Junas Minj, who reminded the faithful of their Christian responsibility to love, respect, and care for the elderly, acknowledging them as precious witnesses of faith, wisdom, and tradition.
The event was attended by a large number of parishioners who participated with great enthusiasm, creating an atmosphere filled with prayer, gratitude, and fellowship. After the programme, Fr. Junas Minj, along with members of the faithful, visited several families in Nongkyndang village. During these pastoral visits, prayers and blessings were offered, with special care extended to the sick, elderly, and those in need. The visits brought comfort, encouragement, and renewed hope to many families.
The programme concluded with joy and thanksgiving, strengthening the spirit of unity and communion among the faithful. It also encouraged everyone to continue witnessing the Gospel through acts of love, service, and compassionate care for one another.
