Bengaluru, 25th March 2026: A solemn Diaconate Ordination was held at Kristu Jyoti College in Bengaluru at 7:00 a.m., presided over by Rt. Rev. Arokiaraj Satis Kumar. A total of 27 candidates from different congregations and various Provinces were ordained as deacons, marking an important milestone in their journey toward ordained ministry.
The celebration was attended by the parents of the ordinands, several Provincials, priests, religious, and faithful, reflecting both the personal and communal significance of the occasion. From the Shillong Province, Deacon Biangjingsuk Dkhar and Deacon Pyndapura Nongdhar were among those ordained.
During the rite, the candidates made their promises and were ordained through the laying on of hands and prayer of consecration, followed by the vesting with the diaconal stole.
In his homily, Bishop Arokiaraj emphasized servant leadership, reminding the new deacons that “you are not to be served, but to serve.” He urged them to live lives of humility, service, and compassion, especially toward those in need.
The gathering highlighted unity within the Church and the vital role of families in fostering vocations. The ceremony concluded with prayers and blessings as the newly ordained deacons begin their ministry in service to the Church and society.
