INTER-SCHOOL FUTSAL TOURNAMENT AT LAWNGTLAI

Shillong 25th July 2026: The Inter-School Futsal Tournament was successfully conducted at Lawngtlai from 22nd to 24th July 2026. The 3-day tournament was jointly organised by LDFA, the District Education Office, Lawngtlai and DLSA, Lawngtlai with the objective of promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and healthy competition among students.

A total of 15 schools from across Lawngtlai district participated in the tournament. Throughout the various rounds of matches, the students displayed commendable talent, discipline, and sporting spirit.

The Final match of the Futsal tournament was played between Don Bosco School, Lawngtlai and Jehovah-Jireh Higher Secondary School. Don Bosco School, Lawngtlai secured the Runner’s Trophy along with a cash award of Rs. 10,000.

The Closing Ceremony was graced by Pu. C. Lalremsanga, the Judicial Magistrate 1st Class, as the Chief Guest. In his speech during the concluding program, the Chief Guest congratulated all the participants for their dedication and team spirit. He highlighted the importance of sports in building character, discipline and unity among the youth, and appreciated the joint efforts of LDFA, DEO and DLSA for organising such a meaningful event for students.

The organisers, participating schools, teachers and all supporters are to be acknowledged for making the tournament a grand success
