Herma, 14th March 2026: A Spelling Bee Competition was successfully organised for the Pre-novices of Bosco Home, Herma on 14th March, 2026. The programme commenced at 5:30 pm in the community hall. The primary objective of the competition was to develop the spelling abilities of the participants and to broaden their vocabulary knowledge.
A total of 26 participants actively took part in the competition, and the event was conducted under the supervision of three esteemed judges. The competition was structured into six rounds. In every round, each participant was given a word to spell. Those who successfully spelled the word correctly were promoted to the next round, while those who made errors were eliminated. As the rounds advanced, the level of difficulty increased, making the competition more intense and exciting. The participants displayed great concentration, courage, and determination as they faced each word. The event was both tense and thrilling at the same time. The participants gave their full effort in spelling each word, reflecting their preparation and eagerness to excel. As the competition progressed, only a few participants remained, leading to a highly competitive final round. The finalists namely Benedict Kharkongor, Geffrey Pyngrope and Roland Myrchiang demonstrated remarkable skill and composure, making the final moments of the event particularly captivating.
The evening concluded on a joyful note with the announcement of the champions by Fr. Rector who was carried by Geffrey Pyngrope in the first position, Benedict Kharkongor in the second and Roland Myrchiang in the third. At the end of the announcement Father appreciated all the Pre novices for their efforts, encouraged the participants to continue improving their language skills, and highlighted the importance of such activities in personal and academic growth.
The Spelling Bee Competition was a grand success, achieving its purpose of fostering learning, confidence, and healthy competition among the Pre-novices.
