Silchar 31st January 2026: Don Bosco School Silchar marked the Feast of Don Bosco cum Parents’ Day with great enthusiasm and splendour on 31 January 2026. The celebration was organized for the Senior Section (Classes V to XII) under the inspiring theme “Strength in Diversity and Pride in Unity.” The programme was graced by Most Rev. Joachim Walder, DD, Auxiliary Bishop of Aizawl Diocese, as the Chief Guest, and Dr. Himabrata Chakravarty, Principal of Lala Rural College, Lala, Hailakandi, and In-charge of Government Model College, Hailakandi, as the Guest of Honour. The highlight of the evening was a vibrant series of cultural dances representing the East, West, North, South, and the mainland of India, beautifully portraying the spirit of unity in diversity. The students also presented a theme presentation, along with instrumental music, a musical band performance, and a thoughtfully enacted skit, all of which were meticulously prepared and highly appreciated for their creativity and coordination. In his address, Most Rev. Joachim Walder commended the Salesians for their 20 years of dedicated service to the youth of the region, acknowledging the school’s commitment to providing excellent academic facilities and promoting co-curricular excellence. Dr. Himabrata Chakravarty, in his inspiring speech, spoke on stress management, encouraging students, parents, and teachers to make learning engaging and joyful rather than burdensome. The programme was widely appreciated for its perfection, synchronization, and professionalism, reflecting the hard work of both teachers and students. The event stood as a proud moment for the DBS family, showcasing the immense talent and dedication that continue to bring laurels to the institution.
