Shillong 8 April: The declaration of the Class X Examination Results 2026 by the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) has brought immense joy and pride to the Salesian Schools of the Shillong Province. The results stand as a strong testimony to the pursuit of academic excellence, holistic formation, and disciplined effort that define our educational mission.

A total of 19 Salesian schools presented 1,428 students for the examination. Out of these, 1,391 students passed successfully, while 37 students could not qualify, resulting in an outstanding pass percentage of 97.41%. This remarkable achievement clearly reflects the consistent academic strength and quality education imparted across our institutions.

A particularly commendable achievement is that six schools—Smit, Rangblang, Khliehrirat, Sohra, Pynthormukhrah, and Sonapahar—secured a cent percent pass result. This milestone highlights not only the academic preparedness of students but also the effectiveness of teaching strategies, close mentoring, and strong institutional leadership.

Analytical Insights

The performance of the Salesian schools reveals several important trends:

  • Consistency in Academic Excellence: Most schools maintained high performance, indicating a stable and well-structured academic framework.
  • Strong Support Systems: The very low failure rate reflects effective remedial teaching, guidance, and student accompaniment.
  • Focused Academic Culture: A shared commitment among teachers and students towards discipline and excellence is evident.
  • Balanced Institutional Growth: Both rural and semi-urban schools have performed admirably, demonstrating inclusivity and equitable development in education.

A special word of appreciation goes to St. Anthony’s Higher Secondary School, Shillong, which has brought great honour by securing six ranks—4th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 11th, and 13th—in the state merit list. This exceptional accomplishment underscores the school’s academic rigor and its commitment to nurturing top achievers.

Contributing Factors to Success

  • The success of the Salesian institutions can be attributed to:
  • Visionary and committed leadership of Principals
  • Dedicated and tireless efforts of teachers
  • Constant support and encouragement from parents
  • Hard work, discipline, and determination of students

Area for Further Attention

While the results are highly encouraging, the presence of a small number of unsuccessful students calls for continued focus on:

  • Remedial coaching
  • Personalized attention
  • Academic counselling
  • Ensuring that every student succeeds remains a priority.

The Class X Results 2026 mark yet another milestone in the journey of Salesian education in Meghalaya. The achievements reflect not only academic excellence but also the holistic formation of young minds who are guided towards responsibility and integrity.

We extend our heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to all Principals, teachers, parents, and students for bringing laurels to our institutions. May this success inspire us to strive for even greater heights in the years ahead.
