Mawkyndeng, 04th February 2026: The Centenary Jubilee cum Eucharistic Procession of Mowtyrshiah Sub-Center under Mawkyndeng Parish was solemnly celebrated on 1st February 2026 with great devotion and joyful participation of the faithful. The celebration marked one hundred years of the Christian faith journey in the community and was observed with prayer, unity, and gratitude.
The Holy Mass was solemnly celebrated by Bishop Ferdinand Dkhar, joined by nineteen concelebrating priests. Among them were Fr. Jeevan Lakra, the Vice Provincial, and Fr. Genesius Wanniang, the Economer of the Shillong Province, whose presence added significance to the occasion. In his homily, the Bishop encouraged the faithful to remain rooted in the Eucharist and continue the legacy of faith handed down over generations.
A special highlight of the celebration was the reception of the sacraments: 78 children received their First Holy Communion, and 278 adults received the Sacrament of Confirmation. The Cathedral Band was present and enriched the liturgy and procession with sacred music, making the Eucharistic procession through the locality prayerful and meaningful.
The Jubilee celebration concluded with the solemn lowering of the Jubilee flag by the Bishop, marking the close of the centenary observance and inspiring the faithful to move forward with renewed faith and commitment.
