Shillong 21st July: On 20th July 2023, an orientation programme was organized by TarunIAS in collaboration with the IQAC, Don Bosco College, Byndihati for the college students interested in pursuing careers in the civil service and preparing for competitive exams. The programme aimed at providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the civil service examination process and equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel. The orientation programme began with a warm welcome and introduction by Fr. George Shining Lyngkhoi SDB, the Principal to the resource persons: Mr. Dev N. Chaudhuri, Mrs. A Sen, Ms. Nayanika Dutta and Ms. Susmita. In his welcome address Fr. George Shining urged the students to take this as an opportunity to realize their dream. The facilitators provided an in-depth explanation of the different types of exams, their eligibility criteria, and the examination process. They instructed the students on note-taking, summarizing, and revision strategies. The facilitators delved into each subject, such as general knowledge, English, mathematics, and an analytical reasoning, highlighting the essential topics and concepts. The programme was successful in providing college students with a comprehensive understanding of the examination process and equipping them with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in these exams.
