DON BOSCO MEDIA NETWORK AND DON BOSCO YOUTH CENTRE BRINGS NEW YEAR JOY TO 210 RESIDENTS OF THADIALONG VILLAGE


Shillong 15 January: After weeks of preparation, collection and purchase of clothes before Christmas and the New Year gifts to the residents of remote hamlet of Thadialong in West Jaintia Hills District, the teams of young volunteers from Don Bosco Youth Centre and Don Bosco Media Network could deliver them to the beneficiaries on Sunday January 14, 2024 who received them with joy and heartfelt gratitude from the hands of Rev Fr Michael Makri, SDB, Director, DBMN. The team moved at 9 30 AM from Youth Centre with 210 packets of clothes for an 86 km journey and reaching Thadialong at around 12.15 Noon. They were welcomed by the Visitation Sisters of Don Bosco (VSDB) with delicious hot lunch. The program started at 1.30 PM with the Holy Mass along with the local community who participated with great enthusiasm and deep devotion to the Holy Eucharist. Immediately after the Holy Mass, volunteers started distributing the gifts to all the households and those present on that day. After expressing their gratitude to all the volunteers, the people returned home, each one of them holding their packet of gifts in their hands. It may be mentioned here, that this is the fourth consecutive year Don Bosco Media Network Television in collaboration with Don Bosco Youth Centre distribute Christmas and New Year Gifts to poorest families in different villages.
