27th October 2023: Don Bosco College, Byndihati organised its 2nd Don Bosco Annual Tournaments on 27th October, 2023 in its own campus. The tournaments for this year consisted of Badminton and Basketball Tournaments for which Colleges and Higher Secondary Schools in Jaintia Hills region were invited. A short Inaugural Programme was held in the College Auditorium at 9:30am in which Shri. Nicholas Swer represented Shri. Balentine Shylla as the Chief Guests; the latter is one of the local well-wisher and benefactor of the College. In his speech, Mr. Swer appreciated the college for being punctual in starting the programme. He also exhorted the audience about making proper use of time – whether it is for studies or games and sports. This year there were four institutions who participated in the tournaments, namely, Kiang Nangbah Government College, Jowai, St. Mary Mazzarello Hr. Sec. School, Jowai, Khliehriat Hr. Sec. School, Khliehriat and Don Bosco College, Byndihati, the host. The tournaments witnessed great talents and passions among students. The participating institutions and the hosting College were equipped with young, energetic and skilled players. All those who participated, including the referees, empires and the accompanying teachers and sports in-charge, were happy and wish to return every year. The organisers were also satisfied with the whole tournament as it went on smoothly as planned.
