INTERSCHOOL DEBATE COMPETITION ON PUBLIC AWARENESS AND CORRUPTION HELD AT SILCHAR

Silchar, 27th October 2025: An interschool debate competition was held at the Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, Silchar, on 27th October 2025, bringing together students from eight prominent schools across the town. The event aimed to foster critical thinking, public awareness, and articulate expression among young minds through the art of debating.

The topic for the competition, “Public Awareness is the Greatest Weapon Against Corruption – Yes or No,” inspired participants to deliver insightful and well-researched arguments. Contestants highlighted the vital roles of collective responsibility, transparency, and education in curbing corruption. The atmosphere was charged with intellect and enthusiasm as students presented compelling points and counterpoints with clarity and confidence.

Among the remarkable participants, Ms. Snigdha Paul and Ms. Pratijayee Paitya from Don Bosco School, Silchar, stood out with their exceptional performances. Snigdha Paul secured the First Position, while Pratijayee Paitya was adjudged the First Runner-up, earning well-deserved applause from both judges and audience.

The panel of judges commended all participants for their logical reasoning, articulate delivery, and confident presentation. The event concluded on an inspiring note, with all students taking a pledge to uphold honesty, integrity, and responsibility in their lives, vowing to contribute towards eradicating corruption from society.

The competition not only celebrated the debating talent of young students but also reinforced the belief that an informed and active citizenry is the true foundation of a corruption-free nation.
