Shillong, 16th February 2026: The Salesian community of Shillong has extended a warm and cordial welcome to Fr. Gabriel Cruz, Delegate of the Postulator General for the Causes of Saints of the Salesian Family, who is currently on an official visit to the region.
Fr. Cruz will remain in Shillong until Saturday to review the progress of the causes of Stephen Ferrando, and Fr. Vendrame. His visit forms part of the ongoing canonical process aimed at carefully examining documentation, testimonies, and other relevant materials connected with their causes.
During his stay, Fr. Cruz will meet key witnesses and members of the Salesian Family in different locations to gather firsthand information and assess developments at the local level. Fr. Barnes will accompany and guide him throughout these visits, facilitating interactions and ensuring the smooth coordination of the programme.
In addition to his engagements in Shillong, Fr. Cruz is also scheduled to travel to Guwahati, where he will meet Bp. Marengo as part of the broader evaluation process related to the causes.
