DON BOSCO RENEWAL CENTRE HOSTS MONTH-LONG PERPETUAL PROFESSION COURSE FOR SALESIAN BROTHERS

Bangalore, 29th January 2026: The Don Bosco Renewal Centre (DBRC), Bangalore, organized a month-long Perpetual Profession Course from January 2 to 29, 2026, aimed at preparing 35 Salesian brothers from various Indian provinces for their lifelong commitment to religious life. Among the participants were 12 brothers from the St. John Paul II Province of Shillong (INS). The course commenced with a solemn Holy Mass on the evening of January 2, inaugurating an intensive process of spiritual and human formation focused on the theme of permanent consecration.

The program offered an in-depth exploration of Salesian religious identity through expert-led sessions on the Salesian Constitutions, youth ministry, and the theology of the Rite of Profession. Participants also took part in specialized workshops on emotional hygiene, meaningful celibacy, and discernment, facilitated by renowned resource persons such as Fr. Joe Mannath SDB and Fr. Jossie D’Mello SJ. The journey reached its spiritual culmination in a Directed Retreat held from January 23 to 28, which provided the brothers with a space of prayerful silence to reaffirm their definitive “Yes” to God before returning to their respective provinces.
