Shillong, 29th November 2025: Don Bosco Technical School (DBTS), Laitumkhrah, Shillong, successfully hosted its DBTS Expo 2025 on 28th-29th November 2025, attracting hundreds of students, parents, and community members. The two-day exhibition showcased the diverse technical and vocational programs offered by the institution, featuring over fifteen specialized stalls and interactive activities.
The expo commenced with a grand inauguration ceremony on 28th November at 10:00 AM, graced by Shri. Methodius Dkhar, MLA and Cabinet Minister, Government of Meghalaya, as Chief Guest, and Fr. Genesius Wanniang, SDB, Economer of Shillong Province, as Guest of Honour.
The ceremony featured cultural performances including songs by MMV and Advance DTP trainees, as well as traditional dance performances by DTP and Stenography trainees. The Chief Guest formally declared the expo open, followed by an inspection of the exhibition stalls by distinguished guests and invitees
The DBTS Expo 2025 featured more than 30 comprehensive displays across multiple technical and vocational streams:
- Carpentry Section – Showcasing woodworking craftsmanship and furniture design
- Welding Section – Demonstrating advanced welding techniques and metal fabrication
- DTP (Desktop Publishing) – Digital design and publishing solutions
- Graphics Section – Digital art, poster design, and visual communications
- Fashion and Embroidery – Traditional and contemporary textile designs
- Beautician: Showcasing how makeup and styling add colour, confidence, and creativity to everyday life.
- Food Stalls – Culinary demonstrations and refreshments
- Photography Services – Capturing and preserving event memories
- Interactive Games and Entertainment – Engaging activities for all age groups
Each stall provided visitors with hands-on experiences and direct interaction with students and faculty, demonstrating the practical skills developed through DBTS training programs.
The two-day expo successfully engaged the local community, providing a platform for prospective students to explore vocational and technical career pathways. The event strengthened connections between the institution, families, and industry professionals, reinforcing DBTS’s role as a leader in technical education in Meghalaya.
The expo concluded with positive feedback from visitors, who appreciated the professionalism, diversity of displays, and warm hospitality extended throughout the event.
