A DAY WITH DON BOSCO: FAITH, FELLOWSHIP, AND FESTIVITY AT DON BOSCO SCHOOL, HERMA

Herma, 31st January 2026: On the 31st January 2026, the Feast Day of St. John Bosco was celebrated with great devotion, joy, and enthusiasm by the entire community. The day began with a solemn Eucharistic Celebration presided over by Fr. De John. In his meaningful and enlightening homily, he beautifully presented the key points shared by the Rector Major on the Strenna, inspiring the community to deepen their understanding of Don Bosco’s spirit and mission.

The morning was marked by joy and fellowship as the brothers actively animated themselves through various games and recreational activities. These moments of shared happiness truly reflected the Salesian spirit of joy, family, and togetherness, making the celebration lively and memorable.

In the afternoon, the brothers were given an opportunity to express their creativity and teamwork by preparing a scrumptious dinner for the special evening. This activity further strengthened community bonding and added a personal touch to the celebration.

At 5:30 p.m., the community gathered for a Thanksgiving Adoration, offering prayers of gratitude to God for the gift of St. John Bosco and for the blessings received throughout the day. This prayerful moment prepared the hearts of all for the evening programme.

The evening programme was conducted to commemorate the feast of St. John Bosco, under the leadership of Fr. Santreki Muliar, the Counsellor of the community. The programme featured a magnificent skit titled “Don Bosco: A Name So Popular,” beautifully portraying the life and mission of Don Bosco. The programme was enriched with songs and dances presented by the brothers and the hostellers of Don Bosco School, Herma. Creative performances such as a puppet show, instrumental music, traditional dance, and a magic show added colour and excitement to the celebration.

The entire programme was well organised and successfully executed, bringing joy and inspiration to everyone present. As the day came to an end, the whole community felt content and grateful, thanking God for the success of the celebration and for the guiding presence of St. John Bosco in their lives.
