Herma, 24th October 2026: Bosco Home Herma organised a Marian Quiz Competition for the Pre-Novices on 24th October 2026 as part of the Marian Month celebration. The event aimed to deepen the Pre-Novices’ knowledge of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and strengthen their Marian devotion. The programme commenced with an opening prayer led by Pre-Novice Wallambok, seeking God’s blessings and the guidance of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This was followed by a welcome speech delivered by the Rector of the community, Fr. Glorius Syiemlieh, SDB, who welcomed the participants and highlighted the importance of Marian devotion in the spiritual journey of every Salesian. Following the welcome address, the judges explained the different creative rounds of the quiz, which were demonstrated by Brother Mark Shanbor Thyrniang. The Pre-Novices were then divided into four groups according to their respective Marian groups: Lourdes, Bandel, Madonna, and Fatima. The quiz consisted of two main sections: individual rounds and group rounds. The individual rounds tested the knowledge of each participant, while the group rounds encouraged teamwork, cooperation, and collective reasoning. The competition was conducted successfully, with all the participants displaying great enthusiasm, active involvement, and a keen interest in answering the questions. After an engaging and competitive session, the results were announced as follows: 1. First Position: Lourdes 2. Second Position: Bandel 3. Third Position: Madonna 4. Fourth Position: Fatima The event concluded on a joyful note, with everyone appreciating the organisers, judges, and participants for their valuable contributions to the success of the competition. The Marian Quiz was a meaningful and enriching activity that fostered a deeper understanding of the Blessed Virgin Mary and strengthened the spirit of unity and healthy competition among the Pre-Novices. The event was a fitting contribution to the Marian Month celebration, reminding everyone to follow Mary’s example of faith, humility, obedience, and love for Jesus.
