Celebration of the Diamond Jubilee of Priestly Ordination and 91st Birthday of  Rev. Fr. Isaac Mattappilil, SDB

Herma, 12th August 2026: The community of Bosco Home Herma joyfully celebrated the Diamond Jubilee of Priestly Ordination and the 91st Birthday of Rev. Fr. Isaac Mattappilil, SDB, on 12th August 2026. The celebration was a moment of thanksgiving and gratitude to God for the gift of Fr. Isaac’s life, his 60 years of priestly ministry, and his generous contribution to the Church and the Salesian Congregation.

The celebration commenced with a solemn Eucharistic celebration at 6:30 p.m., presided over by Fr. Isaac himself. During the Eucharist, he offered his heartfelt thanksgiving to God for the gift of life and for the grace of being a priest for sixty fruitful years. The celebration was attended by approximately 20 Fathers, 13 Sisters, Fr. Isaac’s family members, and the members of the Bosco Home Herma community. The Eucharistic celebration was conducted in a solemn and prayerful manner. The beautiful singing, meaningful liturgical celebrations, and delightful decorations created an atmosphere of reverence and joy. The participation of the Fathers, Sisters, family members, and community made the Eucharistic celebration a truly memorable occasion of thanksgiving.

Following the Holy Mass, a photo session was held, allowing everyone to capture the memorable moments of the celebration with Fr. Isaac and his family. This was followed by a short felicitation programme in the community refectory, where Fr. Isaac was honoured and appreciated for his remarkable contribution, his years of priestly service, and his inspiring personality. The felicitation was followed by a family meal prepared by the Pre-Novices. Their thoughtful preparation and service added a personal and joyful touch to the celebration and reflected the spirit of fraternity and gratitude within the community.

The celebration concluded successfully in an atmosphere of joy, thanksgiving, and fraternity. The Fathers and Sisters expressed their appreciation for the meaningful celebration and for the efforts of the community in making the occasion memorable. The Diamond Jubilee of Fr. Isaac’s priestly ordination and his birthday celebration was therefore not merely an occasion to mark an anniversary and a birthday, but a beautiful opportunity for the entire community to thank God for the gift of his life, vocation, and sixty years of faithful priestly service. It was a day filled with prayer, gratitude, fellowship, and joyful celebration.
