Shillong, 20 July 2026: Don Bosco Technical School (DBTS), Shillong, in collaboration with TAAS International, successfully inaugurated the German Language Course for Nursing Trainees on 20th July 2026 at the AV Hall. The programme marked a significant milestone in expanding global career opportunities for aspiring nurses by equipping them with the German language skills required to pursue employment in Germany.
The programme began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by Rev. Fr. Saji, Rector, Rev. Fr. Shining, Principal, Mr. Saji Chakoo, Director of TAAS International, the German Language Instructor, and a representative trainee. This was followed by the proclamation of the Word of God by Wanborlang and the opening prayer led by Br. Sniawshngain, Vice Principal, invoking God’s blessings upon the programme and all the trainees.
In his welcome address, Rev. Fr. Shining emphasized the importance of language proficiency in preparing young professionals for international careers while encouraging the trainees to embrace this opportunity with dedication and commitment. The gathering was further enriched by a prayer song presented by the students, expressing gratitude to God and seeking His guidance for the journey ahead.
The highlight of the programme was the inspiring address by Mr. Saji Chakoo, Director of TAAS International, who explained the growing demand for qualified nurses in Germany and highlighted the importance of learning the German language as a gateway to global employment opportunities. He encouraged the trainees to remain disciplined, focused, and committed throughout the course.
A significant moment of the event was the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Don Bosco Technical School, Shillong and TAAS International. The MoU was formally signed by Rev. Fr. Shining, Principal of Don Bosco Technical School, and Mr. Saji Chakoo, Director of TAAS International, in the presence of the Rector, faculty members, staff, and trainees. This partnership reflects the shared commitment of both institutions to provide quality language training and create international career pathways for nursing professionals.
Following the MoU signing ceremony, an interactive session was conducted, during which trainees and parents actively engaged with the resource persons by asking questions about the German language course, certification process, and employment opportunities in Germany. The session provided valuable guidance and helped build confidence among the participants.
The programme concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to God, the management of Don Bosco Technical School, TAAS International, the German language instructor, faculty members, organizers, and all the trainees for making the inauguration a memorable success.
The inauguration and the signing of the MoU marked the beginning of a promising collaboration between Don Bosco Technical School and TAAS International, reaffirming their shared vision of empowering young healthcare professionals with the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to build successful careers on the global stage.
