Herma, 16th March 2026: The Inauguration of the Community Month of Bosco Home, Herma was solemnly and joyfully held on 16th March, 2026 at 3:15 pm on the lawn of the house. Community Month is a special time dedicated to celebrating unity, diversity, and brotherhood. More importantly, it is an occasion to cherish and strengthen the family spirit in the community. The theme for this year’s Community Month, “Together We Desire, Aspire and Inspire,” beautifully reflects the work and mission of the community.
The inaugural function began with a parade led by Pre-novice George Thabah. This was followed by an opening prayer and Bible reading by James Alberione Lyngdoh and Khatarborsingh Mukhim, invoking God’s blessings upon the entire event and the days ahead. After the prayer service, Pre novice Ebenezer Kharshemlang delivered a magnificent speech based on the theme of the Community Month. He highlighted the importance of unity, mutual support, and encouragement in building a strong and harmonious community life.
The programme continued with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. The captains of the four different groups participated in this symbolic act. The lamp was officially lit by Fr. Suman Kiro, the Vice Rector of the Community, marking the formal beginning of the celebration. Following this, the Master of Ceremonies invited Fr. Glorious Syiemlieh, the Rector of the Community, to deliver his message. In his address, he encouraged everyone to actively participate in the various activities and to make the most of this time to grow together in unity and fraternity. Then followed by the ribbon-cutting ceremony by Fr. Mani Kuchupura, the Confessor. After the declaration, the Assistant, Bro. Mark Shanbor Thyrniang, explained the rules and regulations of the various games and activities that would take place throughout the Community Month, ensuring clarity and fair participation for all.
The programme concluded on a joyful note with the singing of the theme song. The inauguration was a grand success, setting a positive and energetic beginning for the Community Month celebrations at Bosco Home, Herma.
