Shillong, 26th February 2026: Don Bosco Technical School (DBTS), Shillong successfully organized the Certification Day for the FVT Courses on 2nd March 2026, celebrating the successful completion of training by the batch of August 2025 – February 2026.
A total of 115 trainees successfully passed out from six trades: Advanced DTT, Carpentry, Welder, MMV (Motor Mechanic Vehicle), Electrician & Solar, and Graphic Design & Animation. Their completion of the programme marks a significant milestone in their journey toward skilled employment and professional growth.
The ceremony began with a Bible Reading by Balapynkmenlang Khongwir, followed by a prayer led by Br. Palator Synnah. The Welcome Speech was delivered by Bro. Shiawshngain Papang, Vice Principal, who warmly addressed the gathering and emphasized the importance of technical competence combined with strong moral values. The programme was enriched with songs presented by the MMV Department, Carpentry Department, and Stenography Department.
Fr. Shining Dkhar, Principal, delivered the message, encouraging the trainees to carry forward the spirit of discipline, responsibility, and excellence as they enter the professional world.
The highlight of the event was the Awards and Certification Ceremony, presided over by the Principal. Certificates were distributed to all 115 successful trainees. Special awards were presented to those who secured the highest marks and percentage in their respective trades, recognizing their academic excellence. Additional awards were given to trainees who achieved 100% overall attendance, reflecting their dedication and commitment. Furthermore, special recognition was accorded to those who maintained 100% attendance in the Value Education subject, underlining the institution’s emphasis on character formation alongside technical training.
The programme concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Sir Wanbha, expressing appreciation to the management, instructors, staff, and students for their collective effort in making the event a success.
The Certification Day was a proud moment for DBTS Shillong, reaffirming its commitment to providing quality skill-based education that integrates technical proficiency with discipline, teamwork, and strong moral values.
