A RETREAT ROOTED IN THE WORD: PRE-NOVICES’ SPIRITUAL JOURNEY AT BOSCO HOME, HERMA
Herma, 3rd February 2026: The community of Bosco Home, Herma organized a second retreat for the Pre-Novices as part of its yearly plan. It was conducted from 1st to 3rd February 2026, and was animated by Rev. Fr. Thadeus Kujur. The retreat was a spiritually enriching experience, aimed at deepening the faith of the Pre-Novices and fostering a personal love for the Word of God.
The retreat began on the morning of 1st February with a time of meditation, setting a prayerful and reflective tone for the days ahead. The daily schedule was well planned, allowing the participants to balance prayer, reflection, and rest. The time table was flexible; it started with a morning meditation, breakfast, and morning jobs, followed by the first talk at 9:00 a.m., and the celebration of the Holy Eucharist at 11:15 a.m. After lunch, the Pre-Novices attended the second talk at 2:00 p.m., followed by a time for washing and personal reflection. The third talk at 5:00 p.m. then followed by Eucharistic Adoration, supper, and rest at 9:00 p.m.
Ample time was provided throughout the retreat for the Pre-Novices to ponder, pray over, and interiorize the talks and reflections given by the preacher. Fr. Thadius Kujur laid strong emphasis on the Word of God and Sacred Scripture, encouraging the participants to encounter Christ personally through the Bible and to allow the Word to guide their daily lives and vocation journey.
The retreat concluded on the evening of 3rd February with a solemn Eucharistic Celebration, marking the end of a deeply meaningful spiritual journey. Overall, the retreat proved to be a fruitful and grace-filled experience both for the Pre-Novices and the preacher. It helped the Pre-Novices to fall in love with the Word of God and inspired them to remain faithful to it as the foundation of their spiritual and vocational growth.
