INTERNATIONAL SYMPOSIUM TO MARK THE CENTENARY OF THE ARRIVAL OF THE SALESIANS TO NORTH EAST INDIA


Shillong: As part of the centenary celebration of the coming of the Salesian congregation to North East India, starting from the 20th of September 2022 till the 23rd September, an International Symposium on Salesian Charism and Don Bosco In North East India The Past, Present and Future is organised at Sacred Heart Theological College, Mawlai Shillong.

    The program started with the Welcome speech by the Rector of Sacred Heart Theological College Fr. Philip Barjo, followed by the lighting of the Lamp by the dignataries, then the introduction of the program by Fr. Jose Chunkapura. The message of the Rector Major was read by Fr. Joseph Anikuzhikattil the Centenary coordinator it was followed by the paper presentation by His Grace Rev Archbishop Thomas Menamparampil on the topic Salesian Contribution towards emergence of the Northeast as a peaceful and Spiritually inspiring Region with Fr. Janarius Sangma as the moderator of the session. The program which will conclude on the 23rd September was participated by the priests, students of Shtc, the nuns from the different congregations and the laity.
